Take a peek at our services below that include nutrition counseling. We offer an hour initial consultation with option for follow-up appointments.

Nutrition Counseling

1 Hour Initial Consultation

During this initial consultation, we’ll review your health history through a full nutrition assessment where we will explore your relationship with food, food preferences, and answer any questions that you may have. Together we will formulate a plan to meet your nutritional goals.

30-45 minute Follow-Up

During our follow-up sessions, we will be able to work through any struggles you may be having and will also be able to celebrate your accomplishments. We will reflect on your progress and adjust for your individual needs to help you reach your goals. 

6 Session Package

Includes 1 initial consultation and 5 follow up sessions.

4 Session Package

Includes 1 initial consultation and 3 follow up sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We currently accept credit card and PayPal. We currently accept AmeriHealth, United Healthcare, Magnacare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Aetna, and Medicare. We are in the process of contracting with all major insurance companies and will update as we become in network. In the time being until, we provide super bills for potential insurance reimbursement.
  • Accepting clients in New Jersey, Maryland, Michigan, New York, California, Washington, Texas, Florida, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Alaska, Hawaii, Indiana, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Vermont, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.
  • ***Note: we do ask to keep a credit card on file to cover the differences and any fees in the event that services are not fully covered by insurance. It is the patient’s responsibility to verify their insurance benefits.
  • You must verify your benefits BEFORE appointment. What to ask when you call:
  • Get transferred to: Benefits and Eligibility
  • Does my insurance cover Nutritional counseling? 
  • When you reach a representative, say: "I am calling to see if a certain CPT CODE (97802 and 97803) is covered under my plan.”
  • Is the nutrition counseling considered preventative?
  • Is a medical diagnosis needed to be covered under my plan?
  • If they ask for a diagnosis code: make sure to have that ready. This can be obtained by your doctor.
  • Examples: Obesity: E66.9, Overweight: E66.3, Morbid Obesity: E66.01, Diabetes: E11.65, General Nutrition: Z71.3, Eating Disorder: F50.9, High Cholesterol: E78.5 
  • How many visits do I have per year?
  • Do I need to reach my deductible first?
  • Will there be a copay?
  • What percentage of the appointment is covered?
  • Do I need a referral?
  • Do I need pre-authorization?
  • Ask the representative for a reference code and write it down. Bring the reference code with you to the first appointment.
